Q. Why wait until things start going awry?      Q. Can this method be used Proactively?
Project HealthCheck^TM need not always be employed after a project has gone off track. It is equally appropriate to use the technique proactively as a health-check during an apparently healthy project as there is always room for improvement. In fact IMB Consulting recommends to schedule these health-checks at regular intervals during a long running (multi-year) project.

Iain Begg says “When I think about projects that have gone wrong or are going wrong, I think about Prevention, Detection and Resolution. Project Management methodologies, if correctly implemented and used, should Prevent a project going pear-shaped. PMO methodologies are more about Detecting when things are going awry. IMB is unique in that it focuses exclusively on Resolution.”
