About IMB Consulting

IMB Consulting was formed in 2003 by Iain Begg to provide consultancy in Project Management and Programme Management to City financial institutions.

In 2005, IMB Consulting developed a methodology for Project & Programme HealthCheck™ and this has become the principal service offering of the company. Details can be found on the HealthCheck page.

IMB Consulting also provides training and development for Project Managers by way of structured training courses and one-to-one coaching or mentoring sessions. This training has been supplemented by a further training course aimed specifically at Project Sponsors. Details can be found on the Project Manager Training and Project Sponsor Training pages of this website.

A typical training assignment for Project Managers would be the delivery of a 2-day training course tailored to the specific needs of the client, followed by a further 1-day session after 6 months where we would bring back the same group to assess the effectiveness of putting the techniques into practice as well as introduce some more advanced techniques for managing successful projects. In addition we can provide 1:1 coaching/mentoring to those individuals on an accelerated career path.

A number of other services have been developed which we would be happy to provide more information on. These are:

• Selection of vendor products using our proprietary Facilitated System Selection Method.

• Facilitated Workshops e.g. Strategy & Architecture, Planning, Risk Management, Organisational Restructuring or traditional Brainstorming.

• Head-Hunting: often one of our other services leads to the requirement to fill key positions and IMB Consulting are therefore uniquely placed to assist in finding resources with the right mix of skills & experience. We can help in sourcing Programme Managers, Project Managers, Technical Architects, Business Analysts or Developers.
